Artist Name: Lucille Kim
Title: Process of Separation and Unification
Class: Photography 3
Project title and Requirement:The Double Bind.
For this project students are asked to look at duality and binary in image making
Media: 15 inkjet prints
Scale: 8 x 14 “
Artist statement:
Being born in Canada and raised by two Cambodian parents has influenced the way I am, the way  I appear and how I think. These self-portraits set within my home address how each culture can co-exist but also challenge the other. The series of 15 photographs are installed in one line to be viewed left  to right or right to left, or the center and outwards. The linear installation suggests a clashing or juxtaposition of the two cultures represented in the center image as well as the going back and forth from one culture to the other. So much so, it is a constant process of separation and unification.
